For the Order of Eternal Light (OEL) to be a really strong organization we must hold our leaders to a higher standard of learning and leadership.  Go to http://www.metaphysicsinstitute.org to get your degree.  This being said, all Elders must be certified in their following specialists categories.  In addition to this each Elder must be familiar with and complete each level of training just as any non-leader member would have to do.

                                                                                                     "Para-Anthropology"

 

Anthropology is "the science that deals with the origins, physical and cultural development, biological characteristics, and social customs and beliefs of humankind" (Dictionary.com), but it doesn't really deal with the questions related to the impact and connection of anomalous phenomena on the human condition. To properly understand the potential meaning of anomalous phenomena within the context of the total human experience, we need a blend of anthropology, psychology, and metaphysics, after all, the total human experience involves elements of both the macro and the micro; the big and the small; the universal and the personal. This is where Para-Anthropology comes in.  

IMHS was among the very first to define Para-Anthropology several years ago. Para-Anthropology combines parapsychology, paranormal science, ufology, and cryptozoology along with human nature to better understand why some people experience anomalous phenomena. For example, why do many people experience strange phenomena while others don’t? Why do some claim to be abducted by aliens? Is this a real phenomenon or could there be psychological or anthropological issues involved or could it be both real and psychological? Why do some UFOs seemingly appear on command? Why do some seem to change their direction of flight due to the thoughts of an observer? Does consciousness have anything to do with the physical manifestation of a spirit? Is consciousness required to manifest a ghost? Do spirits only interact with us because we are there? Is there ever any meaningful activity when no human is around? Could some Bigfoot sightings be artifactual manifestations of consciousness, especially those reported in which the Bigfoot has red, glowing eyes? To what extent, if any, is psi ability inherent in all human beings? Is the human mind capable of out-of-body travel? Is it capable of transcending dimensions? What would it mean to the human experience if some aspect of paranormal phenomena proved to be true? What would it mean if it were not proved true?  

To assist students in finding answers, IMHS created Para-Anthropology as an advanced and high-end specialization that explores human nature within the context of anomalous phenomena. While other IMHS specializations require a total of 12 courses to graduation, this specialization requires a total of 19. Thus, the overall tuition is higher. This specialization includes the best IMHS courses relating to human nature and anomalous phenomena. Students will also receive training in several other specializations including counseling/coaching and hypnosis. 

This specialization is our flagship metaphysical degree and is for those who are very serious about metaphysical research into the human condition.

                                                                                                     "Holistic Healing"

 

This category is the primary metaphysics path for students who wish to practice the holistic arts such as Reiki. It is also excellent for students who desire to combine holistic healing with spiritual counseling, transpersonal counseling, or life-coaching. Reiki Levels 1, 2, and 3 (Master / Teacher) are included.

 Some students may already be certified in Reiki 1, 2, and 3, or in another recognized holistic healing modality, or, they may currently be taking these courses elsewhere. If this is true for you, you can still specialize in Holistic Healing but you must provide a copy of your certification prior to your IMHS graduation and must complete 3 additional electives instead of Reiki.  I recommend Certified Holistic Tarot Reader 1, Certified Holistic Tarot Reader 2 and Holistic Meditation, Visualization and Focus.

This specialization requires ordination in the International Church of Metaphysical Humanism (ICMH) (included) or in a bona-fide religious institution if a student does not want an ICMH ordination. Ordinations from the Universal Life Church are acceptable.

                                                                                                "Paranormal Science"

 

Despite the general critical opinion of paranormal research among the scientific community, paranormal science is perhaps among the noblest of callings because it directly impacts the human condition unlike any other field of study. Paranormal research has the potential to make life-changing discoveries about human existence, extraterrestrial life, and our place in the Cosmos. For example, proof of life after death and/or proof that we are not alone in the universe would be the greatest discoveries of all time and have immense meaning for our lives. Paranormal research involves nearly all metaphysical concepts.

 The Paranormal Science Metaphysics Degree covers all aspects of paranormal research and parapsychology giving students a broad base of knowledge. This course also includes training in Ufology so students will learn all aspects of paranormal research. Students who wish to conduct paranormal research and investigations can choose from the specializations below. The curriculum for all specializations in this category is the same.  

This specialization is excellent for students who desire to conduct paranormal research, start and lead a paranormal investigation team, write books on paranormal topics, present lectures and talks in the paranormal field, and more.

                                                                                            "Holistic Life Coaching"

 

This category is the primary metaphysics path for a variety of specializations and is excellent for students who desire to start a ministry or metaphysics practice, open a metaphysical store, conduct spiritual counseling, transpersonal counseling, or life-coaching, write books, do training or speaking, practice holistic arts, conduct pastoral social work, and more. This specialization will teach students our proprietary style of coaching called Life Leadership Coaching --A Transpersonal Approach to Self-Completeness. This intensive program teaches students many practical life skills with the intention of better helping clients, as well as many specific coaching/counseling techniques. Life Coaching focuses on helping clients achieve goals and overcome personal and professional challenges whereas Spiritual Counseling primarily addresses the spiritual nature of client issues and is an integral part of pastoral counseling. Students will learn techniques for both modalities so that they may be better equipped to address a variety of client needs.

                                                                                             "Crypotozoology"

 

Cryptozoology is the study of undiscovered animals, that is, animals as yet undescribed by science. Students will learn about recent discoveries as well as the sheer magnitude of the estimated number of undiscovered species. Students will also learn about taxonomy and classification, research techniques, conducting field investigations, equipment, and working with other researchers. Students will study and research their choice of a reported cryptid with a focus on objective, grounded research. Evidence analysis is also covered thereby equipping students to analyze photos, videos, and other evidence that might assist in scientifically describing a reported animal. This specialization will give the student the foundation and framework to explore, investigate, and research reports of unknown animals that have been seen by locals for years—sometimes, hundreds or even thousands of years. As an alternative, students may choose to specialize in “Hominology,” a branch of Cryptozoology which focuses on the study of primates or hominids such as Bigfoot as opposed to all types of cryptids.

The Ufology Metaphysics Degree covers all aspects of ufology and abduction research giving students a broad base of knowledge. This course covers the same information as the Paranormal Science / Parapsychology degree, so students will learn all aspects of paranormal research. Students who wish to conduct UFO research and investigations can choose from the specializations below. The curriculum for all specializations in this category is the same with the exception that students who wish to specialize in Ufology and Abduction Research (as opposed to Ufology alone) must also take Course MHs.M6: Holistic Meditation, Visualization, and Focus, and Course MHs.M13: Metaphysical Hypnosis (for non-remedial purposes). No Hypnosis Practitioner’s Certificate will be issued unless Course MHs.M8: Transpersonal Counseling and Coaching is also taken.  

This specialization is excellent for students who desire to conduct paranormal and/or UFO investigations and research, conduct alien abduction research, start and lead a paranormal investigation team, write books on paranormal topics, present lectures and talks in the paranormal field, and more.
