Reiki Classes

 

Reiki is a Japaneese healing art.  The word Reiki is made of two Japanese words - Rei which means "the Wisdom of God or the Higher Power" and Ki which is means 'life force energy.' So Reiki means 'spiritually guided life force energy.'

 

Reiki was discovered and developed by Dr Mikao Usui in 1922, Japan.  Reiki had such a strong following of patients that the Japaneese military took notice and sent two Admirals to learn Reiki from Dr Usui.  While teaching a Reiki Class Dr Usui suffered a stroke and died on March 9, 1926.  This healing art didn't make its way to the US until Mrs. Hawayo Takata brought it to the state of Hawaii in 1938 and it wasn't until the 70's until she taught someone Shinpiden (Reiki Master Teacher).  To take the Shinpiden class, from Mrs. Hawayo Takata, one had to pay $10,000 and was only offered to a few students.  As you can see I don't charge $10,000 for the Shinpiden class but it's important to know it's true value.  She also charged $2000 for Reiki Shoden and $5000 for Reiki Okuden.  That's alot of money even in today's standards.
