Reiki is a Japaneese healing art. The word Reiki is made of two Japanese words - Rei which means "the Wisdom of God or the Higher Power" and Ki which is means 'life force energy.' So Reiki means 'spiritually guided life force energy.

Reiki was discovered and developed by Dr Mikao Usui in 1922, Japan. Reiki had such a strong following of patients that the Japaneese military took notice and sent two Admirals to learn Reiki from Dr Usui. While teaching a Reiki Class Dr Usui suffered a stroke and died on March 9, 1926. This healing art didn't make it to the US until Hawayo Takata brought it to the state of Hawaii in 1938 and it wasn't until the 70's until she taught someone Shinpiden (Reiki Master Teacher). To take the Shinpiden class one had to pay $10,000.

Upon completion of this class, you will be able to use Reiki to heal yourself and others.
